Four steps to anticipate in the job recruitment process

The job recruitment process can be a daunting one, especially if you're not familiar with the ins and outs that will come along the way. Fortunately, reputable recruitment agencies like WLH Recruitment & Labour Hire make it easy for you to find a position that’s right for you, while also doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the recruitment process. This is why we’ve put together a brief list of just a few of the things to keep in mind when you’re applying for work:

1. Research the position and company you’re applying for

The recruitment process starts with your application. You will likely go through a number of rounds of interviews, so it’s important that you take the time to research the position and company you’re applying for. This can include their values, the exact role they’re looking for, and what the day-to-day operations of the job will entail.

Not only will this help you prepare for each stage of the recruitment process and give you a better chance of landing the job, but it also gives you an opportunity to be totally sure of what you’re applying for and whether it’s absolutely right for you.

2. Customise your resume for each application, and prepare for your interview

If the job is right for you, then it’s a good idea to take the effort in tailoring your resume and application to that specific position. It’s easy to get bogged down in the recruitment process – especially if you’ve been sending out resumes for a long time – but this will show that you have a genuine interest in the company as well as the ability to follow directions, which will in turn help you be much more attractive to the business for that specific position.

It’s also good to take some time to prepare yourself for the actual interview, which can include practising with a friend or family member taking the role of the interviewer. This will allow you to be more confident and better equipped to have a successful interview by being able to prepare yourself and not be blindsided by the questions that might be asked.

3. Dress appropriately, arrive on time, and present yourself the best you can

Now, after all that, you should finally have a worthy candidate for your position, and the final step is to evaluate your agency’s results. How many people has your agency placed in compatible positions? Do your new employee’s references check out? Are you happy with their overall communication and professionalism?

The recruitment agency will have done all the hard work for you in sourcing the correct candidates, but their job isn’t done yet. A good agency will always follow up with both you and the candidate after placement to ensure that everything is going smoothly and that the candidate is settling in well.

These are just a few of the important factors to consider when choosing a recruitment agency. By taking your time and doing your research, you can ensure that you find the perfect agency for your business’ needs. So if you’re in the need for high quality job recruitment and labour hire for a variety of fields – from agricultural jobs, to rail labour, professional services, and more – make sure to do business with a recruitment agency you can trust like WLH Recruitment & Labour Hire.

4. Give notice to your current employer if you’re offered the job

If you do happen to be currently employed, it’s common practice to give notice to your employer before you can start your new job. Most employers require a two week notice for this, or more depending on your contract. Your new employer will likely require you to start as soon as possible, so it’s important to come to an agreement with your current employer about when the best time for you to leave would be.

These are just a few of the most important things to keep in mind to make sure the recruitment process is as simple and non stressful as possible. But remember to keep in mind, too, that WLH Recruitment & Labour Hire makes it our business to help you with every step of the process with our industry-leading recruitment services, so if you have any further questions or would like us to help you start looking for work, don’t be afraid to get in touch with us right away!
